I swear if I hear the name of that book/movie one more time I will do just that - VOMIT. I haven't even read the book or seen the movie and I don't like it. But its everywhere. They even had a whole day devoted to it on one of the Home Shopping Channels. I see jewelry made out of it at craft shows.
This stupid movie that is everywhere I turn. How bout a love story? Chick Flick = Hope Floats. Chick Flick = Jerry Maguire, etc. What is with this name for this thing. It's basically just a limp regurgitation of Sex Drugs and Rock n Roll. Which in my opinion is so much more exciting! At least there is music!
Still like that old time rock'n' roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock 'n' roll
Won't go to hear them play a tango
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only one sure way to get me to go
Start playing old time rock 'n' roll
Call me a relic, call me what you will
Say I'm old-fashioned, say I'm over the hill
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll
Songwriters George Jackson, Thomas Jones

I read the book, it was wonderful. Th author actually didn't sleep with ANYONE while she was traveling until the very end when she met a much older man that she later married. (It's called Eat, Pray, Love for a reason...not Eat, Pray, Screw) I'm sick of all the hype too but the book was definitely worth the read.
That's good to know. Maybe I'll get it from the library. Right now I am still trying to finish Lovely Bones which I have had to check out 3 times - I can't read with this sinus stuff going on, hurts my eyes.
I do have to say thought that I am totally sick of every place I go they have something that is linked to that name. Even at the grocery store now, where the flowers and balloons used to be they have all this other stuff that is supposed to put you or the guy who was going to buy you flowers or balloons, in that EPS mood. This sorta reminds me of "Waiting to Exhale.
Oh well, we ALL have colds, so all of us are grumpy :(
By the way....what's a Nook? Someone I know wanted to know if I had any thing to trade/
Nook is an e-reader put out by Barnes & Noble. Similiar (but far more superior) to Amazon's Kindle device. When you buy books for your Nook, you can "lend" them to a friend for two weeks and then the book is returned to your account.
Hmm...I thought maybe that was it.
I love the feel of a book. I like to hold the book in my hands and turn the pages and put my pretty bookmarks in it. Particularly my various devotional books, I love the different sizes of them, some small and square, just a little bigger than my hand, I can open to the day it is or if that doesn't fit my mood I can just randomly let it fall open and see what I get. Others are large and thin and I can put my beaded book thongs in them.
Just now I went to my email and there was this article "Are e-books worth the money?" http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/110485/are-e-books-worth-the-money?mod=family-love_money
It says not for the casual reader. I guess that's what I am, although I have many books, I check most out at the library lately. I guess I would have to try one of those electronic devices to know if I would like it.
I don't know how good it would look on a coffee table......
